History of UCC Robotics: Pioneering Excellence in STEM Education
The Unida Christian Colleges (UCC) Robotics program has emerged as a trailblazer in the field, earning the title "The Pioneer in Robotics Technology Excellence in Cavite" following its integration into the Philippine Robotics Academy in 2021. Undeterred by the challenges posed by the pandemic, UCC initiated the pilot implementation of its robotics program, venturing into the virtual world using a specialized toolkit.Commencing with Junior High students, UCC meticulously selected students to join the coveted UCC Robotics Elite Team, providing them with specialized training through the UCC Robotics Training The Champion program. As the program progressed into its second year, Elementary students were integrated, undergoing additional coding programs to enhance their skills. Notably, in its third year, we started the inclusion of Senior High School students, marking a significant milestone for the program. In collaboration with Felta Multimedia Inc., the exclusive distributor of Lego robotics in the Philippines under its Philippine Robotics Academy, UCC ventured into its first national competition. Astonishingly, the UCC Robotics Elite Team secured 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places among the top 5 awarded teams, achieving an impressive 2nd overall ranking in the Philippines for the Junior High School category in its inaugural year. This success propelled the team to the international stage, representing the Philippines in the World Robot Games Championships, where they clinched the 15th position globally and were recognized among the World’s Top 20 teams out of 540 participants from over 250 countries.Over the past two years, UCC's Junior High School level has consistently dominated the National Levels competition, securing the prestigious Rank 1 position. This achievement not only underscores UCC's excellence on a national scale but positions them as strong contenders for a place among the Top 3 in the World RVG competition.Building on this success, the UCC Robotics Elite Team continued to dominate the World Robot Games Championships in its second year, surpassing the previous 15th position to claim the 3rd spot globally. Consequently, UCC now holds the prestigious title of being ranked #1 in the Philippines and No. 3 in the world in robotics technology excellence.
In a groundbreaking development during the program's second year, UCC seized a unique opportunity to participate in the pilot testing of the first-ever and largest STEM Academy Robotics Camp. This historic initiative, the first of its kind in Philippine Robotics, involved countries like the Philippines, Hungary, South Africa, and Israel. UCC's Senior High School students made history by completing the World Robotics Olympiad STEM Academy Modules with Lego Education and Arduino-based robotics content structure from May 4-5, 2022, marking the first successful rollout of this pioneering project globally. Entering its third year, UCC Robotics has expanded its participation by forming groups across all levels – Elementary (1 group), Junior High School (2 groups), and Senior High School (2 groups). United as the UCC Robotics Elite Team, consisting of five outstanding groups, they secured both the Top 1 and Top 2 spots, ultimately clinching Rank 1 overall. The journey continues with additional accolades in robot design and coding, solidifying UCC's legacy as a pioneering force in robotics technology and STEM education.

Coding
Code stands as the fundamental language shaping our contemporary world. Understanding coding provides a clear advantage, placing individuals ahead of their peers. UCC acknowledges that this goes beyond readiness for a future in programming; it instills crucial skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and a lot more. Proficiency in coding not only prepares individuals for the dynamic tech landscape but also unlocks numerous career paths, acknowledging coding's influence across diverse professional domains. Coding is more than a technical pursuit; it is a gateway to a versatile skill set, enabling individuals to navigate the intricacies of the modern digital age with proficiency and adaptability.UCC embraces Code.org®, an educational innovation committed to the vision that every student, regardless of their school or background, should have the opportunity to learn computer science as an integral part of their K-12 education. This reflects UCC's dedication to fostering a comprehensive and inclusive educational environment where students are equipped with essential skills for the digital age. By incorporating Code.org® into its curriculum, UCC underscores its commitment to providing students with a foundational understanding of computer science, preparing them for a technologically advanced future. This strategic integration aligns with the broader goal of empowering students with the knowledge and proficiency needed to thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of technology and innovation.
AutoCAD
The incorporation of AutoCAD into drawing instruction at UCC has proven to be a transformative and beneficial approach for students' learning experiences. The positive impact is reflected in various aspects, contributing to a holistic development of skills and attitudes.AutoCAD not only serves as a tool for teaching drawing but also fosters a positive attitude among students towards this advanced software. This positive disposition has a lasting effect, positioning students favorably for future endeavors in the evolving landscape of digitization.Recognizing the significance of independent learning, UCC acknowledges AutoCAD's role in providing a platform for students to practice and enhance their skills beyond the traditional classroom setting. This not only encourages autonomy but also contributes to improved mastery of AutoCAD, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Moreover, the integration of AutoCAD has heightened students' interest and engagement in Technical Drawing. The result is a more dynamic and participatory learning environment, ultimately leading to superior learning outcomes. AutoCAD serves as a catalyst in making Technical Drawing more accessible and enjoyable for students.Addressing potential limitations, such as students lacking personal computers, the curriculum's integration of AutoCAD ensures inclusivity. By providing access to this technology within the academic setting, UCC ensures that every student has the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in AutoCAD, irrespective of individual resources.
