History

The new library at Unida Christian Colleges is proudly named after Gloria Pakingan Silla also known as “Teacher Galo”, a remarkable figure whose life embodies the values of education, service, and community spirit that our institution upholds.

Born on April 9, 1955, Teacher Galo began her educational journey at a young age, graduating from Anabu II Elementary School in 1968 and Imus Institute High School in 1972. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Secondary Education from the Philippine Normal College in 1983, graduating Cum Laude. Even before completing her studies, Teacher Galo's passion for teaching shone through as she became a delegate at the Anabu Unida Church's Sunday School Teachers’ Institute at just 13 years old.

Over her 30-year career at what is now Unida Christian Colleges, Teacher Galo held various roles, including teacher, registrar, principal, and OIC administrator. Her commitment to education extended beyond the classroom through her involvement in community service and educational missions, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to making a difference.

By naming the library after Gloria Pakingan Silla, we honor her profound impact on education and inspire future generations to embrace knowledge and service, reflecting her legacy in our community.
